How do I sign up?
You can sign up online by clicking "SIGN UP TODAY" at the top or bottom of this page, or going directly to our Shop page. Additionally, you can sign up by email by contacting us HERE or by directly emailing us at nokafarm802@gmail.com and arranging to pay by cash, check or electronic payment (card, Paypal or Venmo).
What happens if I miss a share pick up?
We encourage our members to make arrangements each week to be available during pickup hours to collect their Share, but we understand that commitment is not always possible. Members are encouraged to send a friend or neighbor to pick up their share on weeks when they cannot collect their drop-offs, or to message us in advance to make other arrangements.
Unclaimed shares will be donated at the end of the day and senior members of our local community are always grateful for the donation!
What happens if there is a terrible storm this season or bad disease?
As members of the farm community, FlowerShare-holders assume the risk of farming. In cases of bad weather (drought, floods, storms, frost, etc.), disease, pests, and other unexpected challenges, there may be shortages in farm products or a lack of diversity. We will do our VERY BEST to deliver high-quality farm products in their full value each week. We are part of a large network of local growers that we can work with to fill in gaps in our growing schedule, if needed, to the best of our ability.
There are no refunds for missed shares (on the FlowerShare-holder's part) or smaller shares than planned (on the farmer's part). We also reserve the right to reschedule a delivery day during weather situations where it is deemed unsafe to harvest or travel for deliveries.
What are the benefits of joining the FlowerShare program?
The FlowerShare program is a great way to support the farm. The upfront sign-ups also allows us to get an idea of WHO we are supplying, so we can grow more of the things that you like in future seasons. Our members receive a detailed weekly newsletter that includes anecdotes of life on the farm, recipes, and even tips on preserving the harvest to add diversity to your winter meals.
What types of flowers are included in the share?
Noka Farm grows around 60 different varieties of flowers throughout the summer, and fall. A short list includes; amaranth, aster, calendula, celosia, cosmos, dahlias, dianthus, gomphrena, matricaria, nigella, peonies, poppies, ranunculus, scabiosa, snapdragons, sunflowers, zinnias, and so much more!
Can I buy extra items at the farm stand?
Yes! New for the 2023 season we will have a small farm stand set up daily for our customers to purchase extra vegetables, fruits, herbs, fresh eggs, cut flowers, canned foods such as jams, jellies and pickles, and our baked goods! All products will be harvested and set out as available, and quantities/availability are not guaranteed. Additionally, new for this season, we are working on pairing up with other local farmers to offer you more local products! Raw milk, grass-fed beef, pork, honey, maple syrup, and more! For more information, check out our webpage HERE.
Customers will be able to pay with cash, check, Paypal or Venmo. We are hoping to also be able to accept credit cards - more info will be available on that closer to the harvest season.
What if I can’t use my entire share?
You are always welcome to send us a message to discuss smaller sized deliveries, or we encourage sharing your deliveries with friends and family if needed. We also maintain a list of local seniors in need and regularly make donations if you would like us to donate your unneeded share items to someone in need. Fresh flowers are ALWAYS appreciated by those in our local community and nothing at the farm goes to waste.
How will the FlowerShare be set up?
All of our bouquets are pre-packaged in kraft paper for easy recycling. We choose the varieties each week based off of available harvests, and package them up. All standard FlowerShares are created with the same items. Please note in your order any allergies, or if there are any specific flowers that you definitely do not like. We will do our best to accommodate special requests, but we do not guarantee substitutions, except for allergens.
Can I sign up for just one month?
In following the spirit of the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), we ask that all members commit to the entire share season. This allows us, the farmers, to best plan the farm. In our experience, members that commit themselves to the farm for several months at a stretch are the ones that have the best experience overall, because they are able to immerse themselves in the experience and develop positive changes in their self-sustainability. They also get to enjoy our full selection of flowers.
New for the 2023 season, we will also be offering MarketShare CSAs, where customers purchase a set dollar-value in the spring, to be used all season long. If a full FlowerShare is not something you want to commit to, a MarketShare might be the perfect solution! Check out more details HERE.
Do you offer payment plans?
We understand that times are tough for many families. We believe that EVERYONE has the right to fresh, local food regardless of income or circumstance. When placing your orders, we offer either payment in full, or a payment plan. If you would like to enter into a payment plan, just select "MANUAL PAYMENT" during checkout. You will receive an invoice directly to your provided email address reflecting the full balance of your CSA purchase. A 50% deposit will be required to finalize your CSA signup. After the initial deposit is paid, you will be able to pay off the remaining balance as best fits your schedule. All FlowerShare balances are required to be paid in full by July 1, 2023.
What is your CSA Cancellation Policy?
Once you sign up and pay the deposit on your CSA, you have secured your place in the CSA program for that season.
There are no refunds, either full or partial, for cancellation of a CSA once purchased. Members may choose to find an alternate person to buy out the rest of their season’s share, and the share ownership will be transferred to the alternate person, once we, the farm, have been notified in writing. The alternate person is responsible for paying the original shareholder directly.
