The 3 Most Important Things About the MarketShare CSA
 (1) This CSA gives you flexibility.

-Your CSA share will come in the form of a pre-loaded e-gift card - essentially, farm credit to spend with us throughout the season in a way that works best for your household. After purchasing, you will be emailed an e-gift card wi
th your unique code, as well as directions on how to track your purchases, and current balance.

(2) This CSA is 100% "free-choice"

-Each week (or every other week, or whenever you get to the market or farm stand...), you select the products you want. You are welcome to spend your farm credits on our fresh seasonal produce, herbs, fruits, cut flowers, fresh eggs, canned goods, and/or baked goods. Basically anything our farm has produced and is available at that market or farm stand!

(3) Weekly CSA participation is not required

-You purchase from the farm on the weeks that suit your schedule. Each week, there are 2 ways to shop using your MarketShare credits:
     (a) shop "honor-system style" at our contactless farm stand open daily June-September. Simply shop for the products you would like to purchase, write down on the provided spreadsheet your purchase amount, and we will email you a digital receipt and current account balance at the end of the day.
     (b) shop from our stand at the Barre Farmer's Market each Wednesday evening in downtown Barre and we'll ring you through on your e-gift card.
We will email you a digital receipt and current account balance at the end of the day.
What Else Do I Need To Know About The MarketShare CSA?
What happens if I spend all my credits before the end of the season?
-If you spend down the full value of your Share, you can purchase additional credit at any point through our online store, or in-person. We will then reload your e-gift card account, and you will be set for more market trips and delicious food!

What happens if I don't spend all my credits before the end of the season?
-The balance on your MarketShare card will roll over between seasons, though we don't think you will have trouble using it all during the season!

What is NOT eligible to be purchased using my MarketShare credits?
-Please note, your MarketShare credits are not eligible towards purchases at our farm stand of products by other farmers (raw milk, pork, maple syrup, etc.), and are not eligible towards custom bakery orders.
Frequently Asked Questions

How do I sign up?
You can sign up online by clicking "SIGN UP TODAY" at the top or bottom of this page
, or going directly to our Shop page. Additionally, you can sign up by email by contacting us HERE or by directly emailing us at nokafarm802@gmail.com and arranging to pay by cash, check or electronic payment (card, Paypal or Venmo).

What happens if there is a terrible storm this season or bad disease?
As members of the farm community, MarketShare-holders assume the risk of farming.  In cases of bad weather (drought, floods, storms,
frost, etc.), disease, pests, and other unexpected challenges, there may be shortages in farm products or a lack of diversity.  We will do our VERY BEST to deliver high-quality farm products in their full value each week.  We are part of a large network of local growers that we can work with to fill in gaps in our growing schedule, if needed, to the best of our ability.

What are the benefits of joining the MarketShare program?

The MarketShare program is a great way to support the farm.  The upfront sign-ups also allows us to get an idea of WHO we are supplying, so we can grow more of the things that you like in future seasons. Our members receive a detailed weekly newsletter that includes anecdotes of life on the farm, recipes, and even tips on preserving the harvest to add diversity to your winter meals.

Why should I join the MarketShare program, instead of just purchasing food from somewhere else?
First, the FarmShare program is the best way to ensure you have access to fresh, seasonal food each week.  The easiest way to eat healthy is to surround yourself with fresh produce.  It's a great way to learn about what's in season, gather new recipes, and be part of a growing community.

Second, the FarmShare program is one of the best ways to support local farmers!  It provides us with the money needed upfront at the beginning of the season and spreads out some of the risk of growing food for others.  Your investment in our farm directly supports our young family and our local community.

Third, FarmShare members play an ACTIVE role in the local food movement as they spend a season learning about how food on our farm is grown, prepared, and enjoyed.  Through our weekly newsletters you learn about our life and local agriculture, as well as new recipes and menu ideas.

What types of flowers do you grow?
Noka Farm grows around 60 different varieties of flowers throughout the summer, and fall.  A short list includes; amaranth, aster, calendula, celosia, cosmos, dahlias, dianthus, gomphrena, matricaria, nigella, peonies, poppies, ranunculus, scabiosa, snapdragons, sunflowers, zinnias, and so much more!

Can I buy other non-eligible items at the farm stand?

Yes!  New for the 2023 season, we are working on pairing up with other local farmers to offer you more local products! Raw milk, grass-fed beef, pork, honey, maple syrup, and more! These items will not be available for purchase with your MarketShare credits, but you are definitely welcome to purchase them with out-of-pocket funds!

Customers will be able to pay with cash, check, Paypal or Venmo. We ar
e hoping to also be able to accept credit cards - more info will be available on that closer to the harvest season.

Do you offer payment plans?
We understand that times are tough for many families. We believe that EVERYONE has the right to fresh, local food regardless of income or circumstance. When placing your orders, we offer either pay
ment in full, or a payment plan. If you would like to enter into a payment plan, just select "MANUAL PAYMENT" during checkout.
You will receive an invoice directly to your provided email address reflecting the full balance of your CSA purchase. A 50% deposit will be required to finalize your CSA signup. After the initial deposit is paid, you will be able to pay off the remaining balance as best fits your schedule. All MarketShare balances are required to be paid in full by June 1, 2023

What is your CSA Cancellation Policy?
Once you sign up and pay the deposit on your CSA, you have secured your place in the CSA program for that season.

There are no refunds, either full or partial, for cancellation of a CSA once purchased. Members may choose to find an alternate person to buy out the rest of their season’s share, and the share ownership will be transferred to the alternate person, once we, the farm, have been notified in writing. The alternate person is responsible for paying the original shareholder directly.
